Last night was the big event that we had been working on for months, the Signature Chefs Auction. We had great food and fun! Chris and I won some great auction items. We got passes to the OKC Art Museum, a family pass to the Harn Homestead, and a portrait setting. All things that we will use and the money went to MOD. Thanks to everyone that participated! We ended up raising over $70,000 for Lillie's favorite charity!
This year for OU/TX Chris and I decided to start a tradition. We used to go to Chris' friends house every year for the game and a chili cook off. He stopped having the party a few years ago and we miss it. We decided we would take over the tradition. This year we hosted our inaugural OU/TX Chili cook off. It was a great success!
The winners!
A group shot. We didn't think of taking it until a few people had already gone home. We had quite the turn out!
Usually we try to do something as a family on Friday nights. This weekend we had plans every day and night. There was so much going on this weekend. We started off Friday with just me and Draven. I took him to my old high school for homecoming. It was fun, but too crowded. Saturday we had many things going on. First we hit Benz Club for a car show, then the Governor's mansion for Septemberfest, and finished up with a neighborhood cookout for Neighborhood Night Out. I even won a $50 gift certificate at the cookout! Sunday we went over to Nanny's (my mother-in-law) house for the end of my birthday week. She cooked me a fantastic meal, got me my favorite tart from La Baguette, tons of clothes and jewelry. It was wonderful! I have lots of pictures but will try to narrow them down.
Septemberfest at Governor's Mansion Neighborhood Night Out. Chris won a football. The end of my birthday week. Dinner at Nanny's. Draven and Poppy Jacques had too much fun at the party. They were both asleep at 6pm! Lillie loves Nanny's singing birdie. Lillie's new cheesey face!
6 years after Lance passed away and we finally decided we were ready for a dog. We did it only with the option of giving him back to his owner if he didn't fit in with the family. We needed a dog that liked cats and babies. We took him as a "foster dog" on labor day weekend. After 24 hours we knew he was here to stay. He is a fullblood Bernese Mountain Dog. He was born thanks to a breeder (ugh) and given up when he had one blue eye and one brown (double ugh.) He was also a bit on the runt side. He ended up in a large dog shelter. Chris friend adopted him, but took a new job that kept her from spending much time with him. He is the sweetest dog. He is very quiet (not a bark or noise from him yet) and shy. He loves me and baby, but gets nervous around men. We took him for his first public outing today. There were lots of people and other dogs. He did a fantastic job! I think he is going to fit in just fine.
